Faculty of Computing Overview

SIMAD UNIVERSITY (hereafter SU) was officially established on January 20, 2011, following the approval of its upgrade by the Board of Trustees during their inaugural meeting. This transition marked the evolution of the institution from the Somali Institute of Management and Administration Development (SIMAD), which had been operational since its founding on November 6, 1999, into a comprehensive and fully-fledged university.

The faculty of Computing at the University stands as a pioneering institution, leading the way in the field of information technology and computer science education. Our faculty comprises a dedicated team of teaching professionals, each with a wealth of IT expertise and cutting-edge teaching tools and equipment. Innovation and creativity are the cornerstones of our faculty’s culture. We recognize that the ever-evolving information technology landscape demands innovators and creative problem solvers.
